Visit Rwanda x Basketball Africa League: A Milestone Fifth Season

Visit Rwanda is proud to return as an official partner of the Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 season, marking five years of partnership in elevating African basketball and showcasing Rwanda as a premier sports tourism destination.

 

Since the inaugural season in 2020, Rwanda has played a pivotal role in the league’s growth, hosting thrilling matchups at BK Arena in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. 

 

This year, the action continues as Rwanda welcomes the Nile Conference in May 2025, setting the stage for an electrifying finals in June.

Basketball Africa League

The Tournament

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) 2025 season is set to be one of the most competitive yet, featuring 12 teams from across the continent, including a record six first-time participants

 

With three regular-season group phases, the action will tip off with the Kalahari Conference in Rabat, Morocco, on April 5, before heading to Dakar, Senegal for the Sahara Conference, and Kigali, Rwanda for the Nile Conference.

 

Among the contenders is Rwanda’s own APR BBC, the 2024 Rwandan champions, proudly representing the country in the Nile Conference as they aim to make a deep playoff run.

BK Arena

The Location

The BK Arena is the largest indoor stadium in East Africa, with a capacity to seat 10,000 people. The multi-purpose arena will host  the Nile Conference games of the 2025 Basketball Africa League Season.
