Community Project Launches

As part of Kwita Izina celebrations, the Rwanda Development Board launches community projects that are making an impact on communities living around national parks. This year, the two projects launched include the Rukore Health Post and a Potato Seeds Collection Store.

The unveiling of these community development projects demonstrates the remarkable impact of Rwanda’s tourism revenue sharing programme. It also aims to enhance community involvement and boosts awareness on the importance of protecting national parks.

To date, more than Rwf 10 billion has been invested in 1,003 projects selected by the communities living around Rwanda’s national parks. These include schools, water facilities, housing for vulnerable families, modern markets, and community health centres.
